Karina Spanish Therapist

I’m Karina Woodley

I’m a first-generation Mexican American therapist. LMFT.

I understand the difficulty of keeping harmony between two cultures as you navigate life as a daughter, parent, partner, and working professional.

I completed graduate school in 2021 with a Master of Science in Psychology with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy.

While attending graduate school, I was a behavior therapist where I worked one on one with children on the Autism Spectrum.

I learned patience, understanding, and adaptability when it came to teaching the children life skills and modifying behaviors.

Later, I used my experience in the classroom working as a middle school technology teacher where I worked with a predominantly Latinx population.

Working with Latinx families, I applied my knowledge of working with the whole family to help students succeed. Similarly, I use this knowledge in the therapy room. By using the support of the family, an individual can begin their healing journey.

A postmodern approach to therapy

My interest is in helping couples and families learn how to communicate effectively with each other to reach understanding, trust, and emotional connection. I am a client-centered solution-focused therapist. I use Narrative, Collaborative, and Solution-Focused therapy to help individuals, couples, and families.
